‘I am enjoying the learning experience’
How did you do it?
I wanted to develop my skills in facilitating groups, teaching and training people, so I decided to enroll on some lifelong learning training courses. This enabled me to learn how to plan, facilitate and manage sessions effectively.
I ‘keep learning’ every time I run a course or group, both from my experiences and from others. I am constantly learning new skills, increasing my knowledge base and taking on new challenges and responsibilities.
How would you describe your life now?
I feel more confident and my self-esteem has increased since becoming aware of the five ways to wellbeing. I have even taken on a new work responsibility and in some ways, a challenge. I now deliver five ways to wellbeing awareness courses to people in Rochdale borough. I’m thoroughly enjoying both the experience and connecting with the people who attend.
What advice would you give others who are thinking about taking up the five ways to wellbeing?
I think the best advice that I can give to others who want to take up the five ways to wellbeing is perhaps to set realistic, achievable goals, centred around the five elements. It may also be worth attending an awareness course to ‘Keep Learning’…
